The DIAS portfolio is focused around the effective use of technology in education to promote innovations in teaching and learning.  

DIAS collaborates with and provides support to a wide range of campus stakeholders that include teaching faculty, faculty governance (both UFS and FCCC), and campus leaders and campus staff engaged in Communities of Practice around the use of technology in education to promote innovations in teaching and learning.

Standards, models, advocacy, and shared services for faculty, students, and campus leaders in support of campus online learning initiatives.

Office of Library & Information Services

Shared library services platform, shared library collections, digital repositories, support for research  and shared services to support all aspects of campus library operations.

SUNY OER Services

Standards, advocacy, and faculty support for the creation and adoption of Open Educational Resources and promotion of affordable course materials

Digital Learning Environment

Standardized digital platform to support the electronic delivery of courses and course materials with the Brightspace LMS as the foundation and the integration of a wide range of electronic tools and digital content.

Innovative Instruction Technology Grants

Coordination with the Innovative Instruction Research Council (IIRC) for the annual grant solicitation, review and selection processes, coordinate with grantees for distribution of funds, and dissemination of outcomes to the SUNY community.

Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching & Technology

Oversight and coordination is provided for FACT2. FACT2 is an advisory body to the SUNY Provost, advocating and acting as a resource for university stakeholders at the nexus of technology, pedagogy and research.

Oversight of SUNY’s partnership with Coursera for the provision of no-credit programs on the Coursera platform, including support to campus leaders and faculty for the development of new programs.
