Matching Criteria – System Objects
This article provides an overview of what criteria imports and forms use for matching records when dealing with records and applications.
When importing data to populate standard system objects in Slate, such as schools, tests, and devices, Slate will attempt to prevent the duplication of system objects associated with the Person, Application, or Dataset record. In many cases, matching system objects are updated based on the imported data, while in others, the data is removed from the process to avoid creating duplicate system objects. This article details the exact behavior that data imports and form submissions will use for each type of system object. For information about how data imports and form submissions match onto existing person and application records, see this article.
